 CALL FOR APPLICATION FOR ADMISSION AND GERMAN ACADEMIC EXCHANGE SERVICE (DAAD) SCHOLARCSHIPS FOR AN INTEGRATED MASTER PROGRAM FOR SUSTAINABLE TRANSFORMATION OF RURAL AREA (2 YEARS)

Through the present call, Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey is launching the second batch of its four semesters, two years Master Program for Sustainable Transformation of Rural Area for the academic year 2019-2020. The program provides full scholarship to successful candidates from West African countries. Places (05) are also available for free paying candidate responding to the recruitment academic conditions. Potential candidates are invited to submit an application for selection.

CSDAC 2019 annual report and commitments for the year 2020

Background

In 2018 West African Center for Sustainable Rural Transformation students who were ten in number founded the Climate and Sustainable Development Action Club (CSDAC) in Niger to champion environmental sustainability practices; and to harness and encourage innovative research and partnerships that will enhance climate change adaptation and mitigation, and sustainable development in rural communities, and to as well create climate change awareness across various African communities beginning from Niger Republic.  This report shed light on the different activities carried out by the club in less than one year of existence and one of the main commitments for the year 2020. more...

Induction of new CSDAC Leadership

The Climate and Sustainable Development Action Club (CSDAC) at the West African Center for Sustainable Rural Transformation (WAC-SRT) on Thursday, November 5, 2020 carried out the handing over ceromony which was held at the Abdou Moumouni University of Niamey, Niger. In attendance was the director, Prof Rabani ADAMOU (special guest of honour), the staff members and senior lecturers at WASCAL/WAC-SRT, as well as students from the university and CSDAC club members. « It is a great honour to be appointed to serve as a coordinator of CSDAC, and our vision is to continue the good work of our predecessors in our commitment to enhance rural communities’ resilience to the impacts of climate change » said the incoming coordinating member, Otekpo Armel Lemonla. The new team was successfully inaugurated to stear the affairs of the club for the 2020/21 academic year.

Selection process by the advisory board committee

After a pre-selection work held on October 22nd, 2020, the advisory board committee was held at Abdou Moumouni University during one day, 28th October 2020 in the conference room of WASCAL Niger for the selection process of Master WAC-SRT candidates. The members of Advisory board Committee are divided into two teams. A team based at Abdou Moumouni University led by Prof. Rabani ADAMOU and a team based in Bonn and led by Dr. Wolfram Laube.  The members of Advisory board committee are presented in table1.
